PINK ID CARD

A pink card is a form of identification card initially issued to the stateless people in the Kingdom of Thailand. But according to the Regulation Act 2008, anyone who can meet the qualifications can obtain a pink card, including foreigners living permanently in Thailand.
How can you get a Pink ID Card? You must have a Thai ID card registered under a Yellow House (Foreigners) or Blue House (Permanent residents of Thailand) Registration Book. Then bring all your original documents to the District Office.
The documents you will be needing are:
⦁ Passport
⦁ Work permit (if you’re working)
⦁ Your house registration book (Ta Bien Baan: Yellow & Blue)
⦁ If you’re married to a Thai national spouse, then a Marriage certificate
⦁ If you’re a permanent Thai resident, then your permanent residency books
⦁ Birth certificate of your Thai national Child (if any)
⦁ Your Thai driver’s license (if you have one)
Apart from the documents mentioned above, you will also need a witness (obviously having a Thai national ID card) to confirm your status at the District Office when making an application.
According to Clause 8 of Regulation Act 2008, the pink card is valid for 10 years. But in case you’re an applicant over the age of 60, the card will not have an expiry date.
On the day of applying, you’ll be a photograph, and your fingerprints will be scanned. The timeframe depends on the district office; you can get your card between 1-15 days of the process. But mostly, it takes only one day. Also, the application fee for a pink card is 60Baht.
We strongly suggest you arrive at the government office in the morning. Contact Us. We can assist you with the process and attendance at the office to translate for you.

How will the pink card benefit you?

⦁ It serves as an identification form during domestic travel in Thailand. It is easy to carry around.
⦁ It also helps you to book a hotel during your visit.
⦁ With a pink card, you can open a Thai bank account. However, some banks only accept valid passports.
⦁ Pink cardholders can enjoy Thai prices than foreigners. You can get discounts on many tourism site tickets.
Although it is easier to get a pink card, it is not an authentic resident card. You’ll only be recognized as a long-term community member of the kingdom of Thailand.
On the card will be a 13 digit number, so when required, you can provide this number to assist you with official applications. The best example of this was in the Covid period; members who had the Pink card were able to register quickly for the injections online, and for others, the registration process wasn’t easy as they did not have an access identification number
