Initial Non-immigrant Business Visa Application Process:

You need to prepare the documents regarding the application for the Visa in Thailand in person, or your employing organization can do it on your behalf.
Once the documents are ready, you may choose to submit them through mail or in-person at the Thai embassy or Consulate while being in your home country.
You need to check for the consulate fee and payments required by the embassy and the payment method they accept.
It takes about 5-10 days on average for an embassy or a consulate to process your documents. However, it is highly subjective to the workload present in the office. Remember to attach a supporting document along with your documentation to avoid further delays.

Non-Immigrant Business Visa (Conducting Business Purposes)

If you are a foreigner and wish to carry out business in Thailand, you should apply for a Thai Non-Immigrant B visa.

Re-entry Permit:

For all people who plan to leave Thailand and then re-enter, they will have to apply for a Re-entry permit from the Immigration office or the international airport before leaving Thailand. Only then will you be allowed to re-enter Thailand.

Work Permit:

If you want to attain a Thai Work Permit, it is advisable to first attain a Non-Immigrant B Visa. Once you get this and enter Thailand, you can now start planning and secure a work permit.
You may then apply for the 1 Year Non-Immigrant B Visa Extension of Stay within Thailand on attaining the work permit.

1 Year visa versus Permit to Stay:

This is solely issued to those who want to carry on business and travel frequently in and out of Thailand.
Most people make the common mistake of assuming that they can stay up to a year without interruption. You are only allowed to stay up to 90 days, after which you have to leave and then re-enter Thailand.
People wanting to obtain a work permit will need sponsorship from the Thai business.

Non-Immigrant Business Visa (Employment)

All foreigners who intend to work in Thailand should apply for an initial 90-Day Non-Immigrant B visa from their home country under the employment category.
Your to-be employer from Thailand will be responsible for sponsoring your visa application. It can take between 30-60 days for the work permit to be processed in the initial visa process. Once you get a valid work permit, you can now apply for a 1-Year Non-Immigrant B visa extension requesting to stay in Thailand for an extended time. The clause where you have to inform them of your address every 90-days to the immigration office becomes valid under this category.
You will require a Re-entry permit if you have to travel outside Thailand for any reason.
