PINK ID CARD
A pink card is a form of identification card initially issued to the stateless people in the Kingdom of Thailand. But according to the Regulation Act 2008, anyone who can meet the qualifications can obtain a pink card, including foreigners living permanently in Thailand.
How can you get a Pink ID Card? You must have a Thai ID card registered under a Yellow House (Foreigners) or Blue House (Permanent residents of Thailand) Registration Book. Then bring all your original documents to the District Office.
The documents you will be needing are:
⦁ Passport
⦁ Work permit (if you’re working)
⦁ Your house registration book (Ta Bien Baan: Yellow & Blue)
⦁ If you’re married to a Thai national spouse, then a Marriage certificate
⦁ If you’re a permanent Thai resident, then your permanent residency books
⦁ Birth certificate of your Thai national Child (if any)
⦁ Your Thai driver’s license (if you have one)
Apart from the documents mentioned above, you will also need a witness (obviously having a Thai national ID card) to confirm your status at the District Office when making an application.
According to Clause 8 of Regulation Act 2008, the pink card is valid for 10 years. But in case you’re an applicant over the age of 60, the card will not have an expiry date.
On the day of applying, you’ll be a photograph, and your fingerprints will be scanned. The timeframe depends on the district office; you can get your card between 1-15 days of the process. But mostly, it takes only one day. Also, the application fee for a pink card is 60Baht.
We strongly suggest you arrive at the government office in the morning. Contact Us. We can assist you with the process and attendance at the office to translate for you.
